
Volunteers at the North Ayrshire Foodbank have issued a warning about impostors after their premises in Ardrossan was broken into.
The service issued the warning on social media after the incident on Wednesday night.
In a statement they said: "The Foodbank has been broken into. They may have taken fleeces with the North Ayrshire Foodbank name on it.
"If they ask for anything saying it is for the Foodbank do not give them anything. Legitimate Foodbank volunteers have an ID card.
"Always ask to see the ID card. If you have any doubts give us a ring on 07411113126."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.55 am on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, police were called following a report of a break-in overnight to a premises on Glasgow Street, Ardrossan.
"There are no details with regard to anything being stolen at this time and enquiries are continuing.”
